Pownal bike event

The Tour de Pownal is back, a leisurely bike ride to enjoy Pownal’s scenery, some historic sites, and more.

This is event free to register. It is not a race. Take your time, take lots of pictures, and have fun. The historic Mooar-Wright House, perhaps Vermont’s oldest home, will be open for tours for anyone who wants to take a breather and a peek.

The event is sponsored by the Solomon Wright Public Library, Town of Pownal, HooRWA, Faith Church, Pownal Historical Society, Parks and Rec Committee, and the Pownal Rescue Squad!

Donations to the Pownal Rescue Squad can be made at Support PRS — Pownal Rescue Squad

There will be two routes with a shorter 8-mile ride available and a 30-mile route highlighting some of the important sites along the way.

Some areas of interest:

1. Pownal Center Historic District

2. Mooar-Wright Home

4. Clayton Park

5. Quarry Hill Trail

6. Witch Trial Historic Marker (and general store)

7. Peckham Farm

… and more!

Food: On Center Street, you will find All Belgian Waffles Food Truck!

There will be an aid station and support vehicle for the longer route. Route links will be emailed after registration, and riders kept updated on any changes. For more information, please email jess.rice@ourbikehub.org
