Pownal Historical Society

Our Goals

To establish the Pownal Historical Society History Center at the Solomon Wright Public Library to make the history of Pownal more accessible.
To establish the Pownal Historical Society Project Center as a base for project activities that will produce the information for the History Center.
To raise public awareness of the history of Pownal and to share our discoveries with all interested parties.
To stimulate our children's interest in the history of Pownal so that the fruits of our labor may endure.
To cultivate an awareness of Pownal's founding fathers and its early inhabitants.
To gather and preserve historical data and artifacts so that future generations may learn about the history of Pownal as it is being made today.
To share with other communities the data which may be relevant to their history.
